GPAT 2019 - The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) result 2019 on February 6. Along with this, the GPAT 2019 merit list and final answer key are also available online. Candidates will require their login credentials to view their result of GPAT 2019 whereas the merit list and final answer key can be downloaded directly. NTA had opened the provisional GPAT answer key for accepting challenges till February 3, 2019. The GPAT 2019 was conducted on January 28 in online mode. The GPAT 2019 admit card/ hall ticket was released on January 7. Credentials like application number and password were required to login and download the e-Admit card. The extended closing date of the GPAT application form 2019 was December 7, 2018 (11:50 PM). The last date to upload scanned documents and pay the application fee of GPAT 2019 was December 8, 2018 (11:50 PM). The GPAT 2019 application form was released on November 1, 2018. GPAT is a national level entrance test which is the gateway to M. Pharm programmes. All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) conducted GPAT every year as per the directions of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. However, GPAT 2019 onwards, this examination will be organised by NTA.

GPAT 2019 was a three-hour long, computer-based test to be conducted in a single session. The score of GPAT 2019 will be accepted by all the AICTE approved institutions/ university departments/ constituent colleges/ affiliated colleges. NTA has also announced the provision of scholarships and other financial assistance in the field of pharmacy on the basis of candidates’ GPAT score.

GPAT Result 2019

NTA, the exam conducting agency, has declared the result of GPAT 2019 on February 6. Rank, qualifying status and score can be checked from the result. Candidates need their application number and password/ DoB to get access to their GPAT 2019 result. Each candidate's NTA scorecard mentions their personal details, marks obtained, maximum marks, NTA score, All India Rank, validity of score and qualifying status.

GPAT Cutoff 2019

The cutoff of GPAT 2019 is the criteria for shortlisting candidates for offering admissions to Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharmacy). NTA determines the GPAT 2019 cutoff, which is the minimum qualifying score required for admissions. Aspirants can check below the minimum qualifying criteria for each category (admissions 2018):

GPAT Answer Key 2019

The final answer key of GPAT 2019 was published on February 6, shortly after the results were declared. NTA had released the official GPAT answer key 2019 so that candidates could look through it and calculate their probable score. Moreover, they could challenge the GPAT answer key in online mode by logging in using their application number and password/ DoB till February 3 (11:00 am). Candidates were required to pay Rs. 1000 for every question challenged. The amount is refundable in case of the challenges being correct. 

According to the final GPAT 2019 answer key, two questions were cancelled so all candidates got full marks for those two.

GPAT Merit List 2019

The All India GPAT merit list mentions the names of the candidates in the order of their ranks. This year, a female candidate, Yawalkar Ankita Nitin not only bagged the 1st position but also became the only candidate to secure 100%. Out of 42827 registrants, only 40649 candidates appeared for GPAT 2019. Moreover, out of 41208 qualifiers, 4119 candidates are eligible for availing scholarships from NTA. GPAT Counselling 2019

Counselling of GPAT 2019 is expected to commence from February at the respective participating institutes. Eligible and qualified candidates will be able to participate in the GPAT 2019 counselling, which will be conducted after the declaration of result and All India merit list. The counselling procedure will be conducted by individual participating institutes across India.

NTA conducted GPAT 2019 for offering admissions to as many as 841 colleges. These participating institutes of GPAT 2019 will accept the scores of the aptitude test and offer admission in postgraduate courses of pharmacy programme.

GPAT Admit Card 2019 

NTA released the admit card of GPAT 2019 in online mode on January 7. Only those candidates can download the GPAT 2019 admit card whose application was accepted. They are required to enter their application form number and password. Important details about the candidate, exam time, exam centre, exam day guidelines, etc. are mentioned on the hall ticket. After downloading it, applicants must cross-check all the details, and bring it to the notice of officials in case of any discrepancy. No candidate will be allowed to appear in the entrance test without a valid GPAT 2019 hall ticket.

GPAT Eligibility Criteria 2019

NTA has prescribed the eligibility criteria for appearing in GPAT 2019. It can be checked below:

  • Applicant must be an Indian citizen.

  • Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (4 years after 10+2, including lateral entry candidates).

  • B.Pharm. programme final year candidates can also apply to appear in GPAT 2019.

Note: B.Tech (Pharmaceutical and Fine Chemical Technology)/equivalent students are not eligible to appear for GPAT 2019.

GPAT FAQs 2019

Following are some of the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) regarding GPAT 2019:

Question- Can a candidate take the entrance test from any computer?

 Answer- No, the candidate has to take the test on a pre-assigned computer at the allotted GPAT 2019 exam centre only.

Question- What does a Computer Based Test (CBT) look like?

Answer- NTA is expected to provide GPAT trial test facility for test-takers to familiarise themselves with the Computer Based Test. The trial test will be available from October onwards.

Question- How many questions will be there in GPAT 2019?

 Answer- GPAT 2019 comprised of 125 objective type questions carrying four marks each.

Question- Will there be negative marking in the entrance exam?

Answer- Yes. In case of a wrong attempt, one mark is deducted from the total marks obtained.

Question- Is there any age restriction for appearing in GPAT 2019?

Answer- No, there is no age restriction for appearing in the aptitude test.
