About NIPER JEE 2020

National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) conducts Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) every year in computer-based examination for admissions to post graduate and PhD programmes in pharmacy. The medium of exam is english which is conducted for two hours and there are a total of 200 multiple choice questions which are subject to negative marking. A correct response adds 1 mark and an incorrect one deducts 0.25. The participating Institutes include NIPER S.A.S Nagar(Mohali), NIPER Raebareli, NIPER Kolkata, NIPER Ahmedabad offering around 234 seats. Candidates can choose out of various exam centres across India and once opted, there is no scope for changing the same.

NIPER JEE 2020 Eligibility Criteria

NIPER JEE eligibility criteria lays down the minimum educational qualification which the candidate must meet to be eligible to appear in the entrance exam for the master's programmes which are offered at different institutes. According to the NIPER JEE eligibility criteria, candidates must score the minimum marks in the qualifying exam so that they can take the entrance test. 

Eligibility Criteria of NIPER JEE

The following percentage of marks need to be scored or CGPA should be scored by the candidates:    

  • Minimum  60% marks in the qualifying exam     


  • CGPA   of 6.75 on a scale of 10 

Basis for Calculation of percentage of marks and CGPA

According to the NIPER JEE eligibility criteria, the basis for the calculation of marks in the qualifying exam are: 

    • Minimum percentage of marks is determined on the basis of rules and regulations that have been fixed by the university or the institution concerned

    • CGPA is also based on the norms that have been laid down by the university or the institution concerned 

    • If the university or the institution has not laid down any rule for determining the CGPA, then in that case, CGPA scored by the candidate for all the years of the qualifying degree is taken into account. 

GPAT, NET, GATE Score Card 

The score card of GATE, NET and GPAT is an essential document which the candidates must bring with them at the time of interview and group discussion. GPAT, GATE and NET qualification is a compulsory qualification for all the programmes except for the candidates who belong to following category.

    • Candidates holding B.V.Sc./M.B.B.S./B.A.M.S .degree

    • Sponsored candidate from public/private sector undertaking, Govt. departments and   research and development organizations

According to the exam pattern of NIPER JEE, candidates have to answer questions which are of B.Pharm level and M.Sc. Few questions are from general aptitude as well. 

NIPER JEE admit card is released on the official website of the conducting institute of NIPER JEE. Candidates have to download the admit card of NIPER JEE by entering the requisite credentials. The authorities don't send NIPER JEE admit card by post.

1. Visit the official website of NIPER JEE conducting body/ institute.

2. Enter the link to NIPER JEE and find the option of admit card.

3. Candidates can access their admit card through application ID and password.

4. The admit card appears on the screen available for download.

NIPER JEE result is declared a few days after the date of exam. The result of NIPER JEE is announced in online mode. NIPER JEE result is released in the form of merit list. It is based on the performance of the candidate in the entrance exam. All the candidates who qualify in NIPER JEE, have to participate in the counselling wherein they are awarded the institute based on the NIPER JEE result. A separate result is declared containing list of candidates who clear the exam as well the stages of counselling (group discussion and/ or interview). 

Steps to check NIPER JEE result:

1. Visit the official website of NIPER JEE conducting institute.

2. Click on the link to NIPER Joint Entrance Examination (NIPER JEE)

3. Candidates can find the different postgraduate courses (M.B.A, M. Pharm and Ph.D) and have to choose amongst them.

4. The merit list for chosen option displays on screen.

The merit list will not show candidate's name but the application number, category and the All India Rank (AIR) obtained by the candidate.   

Mode of Counselling: Offline

Candidates who seek admission in M.S (Pharm), M.Pharm and M.Tech (Pharm) programmes, and cleare the entrance exam have to participate in person at NIPER JEE counselling.  At the time of NIPER counselling, candidates have to get with them the requisite fee as well as the documents that are listed below. 

All the candidates seeking admission in M.B.A. (Pharm.) programme in NIPER, Hyderabad and S.A.S Nagar have to participate in the group discussion and interview. They must also carry with them all the necessary documents with them at the time of group discussion and interview. Such candidates have to pay the requisite fee if their name figures in the final merit list. The final merit list of such candidates is determined on the basis of the combined merit that they get in the entrance examination, group discussion and interview.

At the time  of counselling of NIPER JEE, candidates have to bring with them the following documents:     

  • Mark sheets of all the semesters/years of the qualifying degree

  • GPAT/GATE/NET score card, wherever applicable

  •   Reservation certificate if applicable

  • Matriculation Certificate as a proof of age and correct name

  • Certificate of disability, if applicable    

  • Certificate of reservation and certificate of income (showing non‐creamy layer status of the OBC candidates as provided in OM No. 36033/3/2004‐Estt. (Res) dated 9th March 2004 of the Department of Personnel and Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pension or any subsequent order issued by the     Government of India in this regard)

  •  Attested Copy of Aadhaar Card

see gpat score is valid for 3 years, if you will not able to clear gpat 2020 this time, based on your gpat 2019 score you may take admission in m.pharma courses. niprjee is conducts by National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, and its mandatory to have either of the score card of gpat/gate/ net.

Eligibilty criteria to appear in NIPER JEE 2020 is mentioned below:

NIPER JEE 2020 Eligibility

For Master’s Courses:

  • Qualifying Exam: For M.S. (Pharm.)/M.Pharm./M.Tech. (Pharm.), the qualifying degree should be B.Pharm. or M.Sc. (Biological Sciences) or M.Sc (Organic/Analytical Chemistry/Life Sciences/Botany) or B.Tech. (Chemical Engineering) or equivalent or B.V.Sc. or M.B.B.S. or BAMS.
  • Minimum Marks: The candidates have to score minimum 60% marks in aggregate in the qualifying exam.
  • Relaxation: For SC/ST candidates, the minimum marks required in qualifying exam should be 55%. For Physically Handicapped candidates, the minimum marks are 50%.
  • Appearing candidates: Final year candidates can also apply.

For Ph.D Pharmacy Courses:

  • Qualifying Exam: The prerequisite qualification is M.S.(Pharm.)/M.Pharm/M.Tech.(Pharm.) in relevant discipline.
  • Minimum Marks: Candidates are required to pass the qualifying exam with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST and 50% marks for PH candidates)

GPAT score card will be valid for 3 years. So, If you have cleared the exam of GPAT 2019, it is still valid and you can appear in NIPER JEE 2020 based on that. But, now if you appear in GPAT 2020 then your latest score of GPAT i.e GPAT 2020 score will be considered amd in case you fail then you are not eligible.

The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research conducts annual joint entrance examinations (NIPER JEE) for admission to doctoral and master's degrees in the field of pharmacy. NIPER JEE 2020 is scheduled to take place on June 10, 2020 (tentative). It is being held at the national level.

Courses like that to M. Pharm, M.S.(Pharm.), M.Tech.(Pharm.), MBA (Pharm.) and Ph.D. (Pharmaceutical and Biological Sciences) are open for admission through NIPER JEE.

  • The exam will be held in the offline mode (pen and paper mode).

see if you want to improve your rank you may give gpat exam this year also. but if you dont want to apply then your previous gpat score also counts.  according to latest notification gpat score is valid for 3 years. so your 2019 gpat score is valid for 2019-2020, 2020-2021, 2021-2022 academic session.
