GPAT Eligibility Criteria 2020 - GPAT 2020 exam has been successfully concluded on January 28, 2020 at 5:30 PM. The National Testing Agency (NTA) sets the eligibility criteria of GPAT 2020. Candidates planning to appear for Graduate Pharmacy Admission Test (GPAT), the national level entrance examination for admission to various PG courses in pharmacy, should first understand the GPAT Eligibility Criteria 2020. Various facets like nationality, having particular education in pharmacy excepting some specific course are the base behind eligibility criteria of GPAT 2020. These factors are important to know because one misunderstanding might result in cancellation of candidature at some later stage. Registration is the next step for students fulfilling the GPAT 2020 eligibility criteria which lasted till December 10. It may be noted that till 2018, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) was the conducting body for GPAT. But since 2019, NTA is the authority that conducts GPAT for admission to postgraduate courses in pharmacy. GPAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria

A candidate becomes eligible to apply and appear for the entrance examination in order to seek admission to various courses of M. Pharm, only when they comply with eligibility criteria of GPAT 2020. So one should know the GPAT 2020 eligibility criteria as provided below:

Qualifying examination
  • 4 year course in Pharmacy after 10+2 from a recognized university
  • Final year students of B.Pharm are also eligible to apply, provided that their result should be declared before admission to 2020-2021 session commences.
Who is not Qualified

Candidates with a degree in B.Tech (Pharmaceutical and Fine Chemical Technology) are not to be considered eligible.

National Testing Agency (NTA), the conducting body of GPAT started the GPAT Registration 2020 on November 1, 2019 in online mode. Candidates have to fill the GPAT application form 2020 and upload requisite documents on the official website of NTA before new last date, i.e. December 10, 2019. Candidates should assure that they comply with the GPAT 2020 eligibility criteria while registering for the exam.

Applicants will have to make the payment of the GPAT 2020 application fee by choosing any of the following two modes-

  • Online mode with payment using credit card/debit card/net banking

  • Offline mode by paying Cash at any of the designated SBI bank branches

Question: Who is eligible to take GPAT 2020?


Candidates who are graduates in Pharmacy (4 years of B. Pharm) are eligible for GPAT 2020. Those who are in the last year of B. Pharm are also eligible for the exam.

Question: Who is eligible to take GPAT under disabilities categories?


Candidates who fall under the category of disabled as per the 'Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016' are regarded as disabled. The categories of disabilities are: (i) Blindness and low vision (ii) Deaf and hard of hearing (iii) Locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy (iv) Autism, intellectual disability, specified learning disability and mental illness, and (v) Multiple disabilities from amongst persons under clauses (i) to (iv) (vi) Other ‘specified disabilities’ mentioned in the Schedule of the RPwD Act 2016.

No, a candidate who is in the third year of B. Pharm is not eligible for appearing in the exam.

It is an online computer based exam of 3 hours having 125 questions and is multiple choice based pattern. The total number of candidates registered for the year 2020 are around 50k.
