Several of those paths depend directly on research exposure during the degree. Pharmaceutical industry roles in formulation, quality, and research value graduates who have worked in a laboratory on real problems, and postgraduate study and a research career are impossible without it. This is the practical reason a research-led faculty matters beyond its prestige: it widens the set of careers a graduate can credibly pursue.
