GPAT 2019- Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test, commonly known as GPAT 2019, is a national level entrance examination for entry into M.Pharm programmes. Till 2018, the entrance exam was conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) every year as per the directions of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. As per the official press release published by National Testing Agency (NTA) on July 7, 2018, GPAT 2019 will now be conducted by the NTA. Aspirants can submit the GPAT 2019 online application form from October 22 to December 15, 2018. GPAT 2019 will be conducted on January 27, 2019.

 

GPAT 2019 will be a three hour computer based online test to be conducted in a single session. The score of GPAT 2019 will be accepted by all the AICTE approved institutions/university departments/constituent colleges/affiliated colleges. NTA has also announced that scholarships and other financial assistance in the field of pharmacy will also be provided on the basis of candidates’ GPAT score.

GPAT Eligibility Criteria 2019

NTA has prescribed the eligibility criteria for appearing n GPAT 2019. It can be checked below:

  • Applicant must be an Indian citizen.

  • They must have bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (4 years after 10+2, including lateral entry candidates).

  • Candidates, who are in the final year of B. Pharm. programme, can also apply to appear in GPAT 2019.

Note:B.Tech (Pharmaceutical and Fine Chemical Technology)/equivalent students are not eligible to appear for GPAT 2019.

 

GPAT Application Form 2019

The application form of GPAT 2019 will be available from October 22, 2018 onwards. Eligible aspirants can submit the online application form till December 15.

 

Applicants can choose to make payment of the GPAT 2019 application fee via any of the following two modes-

  • Online payment using credit card/debit card/net banking

  • Cash at any of the designated SBI bank branches

GPAT Admit Card 2019

NTA will release the admit card of GPAT 2019 in online mode in the second week of January. Only those candidates will be able to download GPAT 2019 admit card whose application is accepted. They will be required to enter their application form number and date of birth/password. The details of the exam, test centre and candidature will be mentioned on the hall ticket. After downloading it, applicants must cross-check all the details, and bring it to the notice of officials in case of any discrepancy. No candidate will be allowed to appear in the entrance test without a valid GPAT 2019 hall ticket.

GPAT Result 2019

NTA, the exam conducting agency, will declare the result of GPAT 2019 in first week of February. Merit list and score card will also be released on the same day. GPAT 2019 result can be checked by entering roll number. Rank, qualifying status and score can be checked from this.

 

Note: The score card will be issued to the candidates.

 

GPAT Score Card 2019

Candidates can view the score card of GPAT 2019 in first week of February. They will have to enter e-mail ID and password at ‘view score card’ panel to check GPAT 2019 scores. GPAT 2019 score card will be valid for only one year to obtain scholarship in Masters in Pharmacy programme. If a candidate is interested in pursuing PhD programme in Pharmacy, the score card will be valid for three years for availing National Doctoral Scholarship. In 2016, a total of 2,711 candidates were qualified, and as many as 26,323 did not qualify for the PG scholarships.

 

GPAT Cutoff 2019

Cutoff of GPAT 2019 is the criteria for shortlisting candidates for offering admissions to Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharmacy). NTA determines the GPAT 2019 cutoff, which is the minimum qualifying score required for admissions. Aspirants can check below the minimum qualifying criteria for each category (admissions 2018):

GPAT Counselling 2019

Counselling of GPAT 2019 is expected to commence from February at the respective participating institutes. Eligible and qualified candidates will be able to participate in the GPAT 2019 counselling, which will be conducted after the declaration of result and All India merit list. The counselling procedure will be conducted by individual participating institutes across India.

 

GPAT Participating Institutes 2019

NTA will conduct GPAT 2019 on January 27 for offering admissions to as many as 841 colleges. These participating institutes of GPAT 2019 will accept the scores of the aptitude test and offer admission in postgraduate courses of pharmacy programme.

GPAT FAQs 2019

Following are some of the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) regarding GPAT 2019:

 

Question- Can a candidate take the entrance test from any computer?

Answer- No, the candidate has to take the test on a pre-assigned computer at the allotted GPAT 2019 exam centre only.

 

Question- What does a Computer Based Test (CBT) look like?

Answer- NTA is expected to provide GPAT trial test facility for test-takers to familiarise themselves with the Computer Based Test. The trial test will be available from October onwards.

 

Question- How many questions will be there in GPAT 2019?

Answer- GPAT 2019 will comprise a total of 125 objective type questions carrying four marks each.

 

Question- Will there be negative marking in the entrance exam?

Answer- Yes. In case of a wrong attempt, one mark will be deducted from the total marks obtained.

 

Question- Is there any age restriction for appearing in GPAT 2019?

Answer- No, there is no age restriction for appearing in the aptitude test.
