GPAT 2018

GPATGPAT 2018- All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has announced the result of GPAT 2018 on February 15 (after 8:30 PM). Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) 2018, a national level entrance exam, was conducted on January 21. The entrance test was held as per the directions of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. The three-hour computer based online test (GPAT 2018) was conducted in a single session. GPAT 2018 registration commenced from October 18 onwards, 2 days prior to the earlier announced date which was October 20. Eligible qualified candidates will be given admissions to the Master’s (M.Pharm) programme across all AICTE-approved institutions/university departments/constituent colleges/affiliated colleges. A few scholarships and other financial assistance in the field of Pharmacy will also be given on the basis of the GPAT 2018 score. GPAT Result 2018


AICTE, the exam conducting body, has declared result cum merit list of GPAT 2018 on February 15. GPAT score card 2018 is also available from the same day. Candidates can check their GPAT 2018 result by entering roll number. It will mention their rank, qualifying status and score in the PG entrance exam besides category and roll number. The score card will also be issued to the candidates.


GPAT Score Card 2018


AICTE will make available GPAT 2018 score card 2018 to be viewed by test-takers on February 15. They will need to enter e-mail ID and password at ‘view score card’ panel to check GPAT 2018 scores. The GPAT score card 2018 will be valid for only one year to obtain scholarship in Masters in Pharmacy programme. In case, if a candidate is interested in pursuing PhD programme in Pharmacy, the score card will be valid for three years for availing National Doctoral Scholarship. In 2016, a total of 2,711 candidates qualified and another 26,323 did not qualify for the PG scholarships.


GPAT Cutoff 2018


AICTE will announce the cutoff of GPAT 2018, which is the criteria for shortlisting candidates for admissions to Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharmacy). GPAT cutoff 2018 is the minimum qualifying score that will be determined by keeping in mind few parameters like total number of qualified candidates, etc. The minimum qualifying criteria for each category is mentioned below:

GPAT Counselling 2018


Eligible and qualified candidates will be able to participate in the counselling of GPAT 2018, which will be conducted after the declaration of result and All India merit list. GPAT counselling 2018 will be held by individual participating institutes across India. Qualified candidates of the postgraduate pharmacy aptitude test can attend the counselling procedure across these colleges.

GPAT Eligibility Criteria 2018

  • Applicants must be citizens of India.

  • They must be Bachelor’s degree holders in Pharmacy (4 years after 10+2, including lateral entry candidates).

  • Those aspirants, who are in the final year of B.Pharmacy course, were also eligible for appearing in GPAT 2018.

Application form of GPAT 2018 was available from October 18, 2017. Eligible candidates could register till December 25.

GPAT Admit Card 2018


All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) released the admit card of GPAT 2018 in online mode only on January 12. Candidates whose application form was accepted, could download GPAT 2018 admit card by entering the application form number and date of birth/password. Admit card of GPAT 2018 mentioned the exam and test centre details along with candidature details as well. After downloading it, candidates had to cross-check all the details mentioned on the GPAT admit card 2018. In case of any discrepancy, the candidate needed to bring it to the notice of officials. No student was allowed to appear in the entrance test without a valid hall ticket.

Questions in the entrance test were asked from the prescribed GPAT 2018 syllabus. On the basis of syllabus of GPAT 2018, questions were set for the pharmacy entrance exam. All India Council for Technical Education provided exam pattern of GPAT 2018 including the total number of questions, maximum marks and marking scheme along with time duration and exam mode. As per GPAT test pattern, the entrance exam was conducted in computer-based mode comprising a total of 125 questions of four marks each. Following negative marking policy, each incorrect response will lead to deduction of one mark from the total obtained marks. The test was held for three hours (180 minutes).

GPAT 2018 FAQs


Question- Can a candidate take the entrance test from any computer?

Answer- No, the candidate has to take the test on a pre-assigned computer at the allotted GPAT 2018 exam centre only.


Question- What does a Computer Based Test (CBT) look like?

Answer- AICTE has provided GPAT trial test facility for test-takers to familiarise themselves with the Computer Based Test. The trial test is available from October 27, 2017 onwards. Earlier, the officially announced date was October 25.


Question- How many questions will be there in GPAT 2018?

Answer- GPAT 2018 will comprise a total of 125 objective type questions carrying four marks each.


Question- Will there be negative marking in the entrance exam?

Answer- Yes. In case of a wrong attempt, one mark will be deducted from the total marks obtained.


Question- Is there any age restriction for appearing in GPAT 2018?

Answer- No, there is no age restriction for appearing in the entrance test.
