In case two or more candidates score equal marks, the merit rank is prepared on the basis of GPAT tie-breaking criteria as set by the NBEMS. The NBEMS GPAT tie-breaking criteria 2026 is as following -
1. Fewer Negative Responses
Candidates with a lesser number of incorrect answers (negative responses) are given a better rank.
2. Age Factor
Older candidate is placed higher in the merit list.
3. Higher Marks in Class XII (12th)
Candidate scoring higher marks in Class 12 (as per application details) is ranked higher.
4. Higher Marks in Class X (10th)
Candidates scoring higher marks in Class 10 are given preference.
