Careers360: Could you briefly introduce yourself and tell us about the programme you pursued at East Point Group of Institutions?
Dhanush M: I'm Dhanush M, a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) graduate from East Point College of Pharmacy, Bengaluru. The programme provided me with a strong foundation in pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacology, drug formulation, pharmaceutical analysis, and patient care. Through practical laboratory sessions, research activities, and industrial exposure, I developed the technical knowledge and professional skills needed to begin my career in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.
Careers360: When exploring higher education options, what drew you toward East Point Group of Institutions?
Dhanush M: I chose East Point because of its excellent academic reputation, experienced faculty, and multidisciplinary healthcare campus. The institution's emphasis on practical learning, modern laboratories, and strong industry exposure made it an ideal place to pursue pharmacy. The opportunity to learn in a healthcare ecosystem supported by a multispecialty teaching hospital further strengthened my decision to join East Point.

Careers360: Looking back, what were your first impressions of the campus, faculty, and academic environment?
Dhanush M: My first impression of East Point was very positive. The campus was well-maintained, equipped with modern laboratories and classrooms, and offered a welcoming learning environment. The faculty members were supportive, approachable, and always encouraged students to learn beyond textbooks. The academic atmosphere motivated us to develop professionally while gaining practical knowledge alongside theoretical learning.
Careers360: How well did the curriculum prepare you for industry demands or higher studies?
Dhanush M: The curriculum effectively combined theoretical concepts with practical applications. Laboratory sessions, industrial exposure, seminars, and project work helped me understand pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality control, and research practices. This balanced approach enhanced my technical knowledge, analytical skills, and confidence, preparing me well for both professional opportunities and higher education.
Careers360: Did you participate in any research projects, internships, workshops, or certification programmes during your time at the institution?
Dhanush M: Yes, I completed industrial training at Bioplus Pvt. Ltd., where I gained practical exposure to pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality assurance, and quality control. I also worked on a research project involving the formulation and optimisation of Clarithromycin-loaded transethosomal gel, which strengthened my research skills and understanding of advanced drug delivery systems. Additionally, I participated in workshops and academic seminars.

Careers360: Were you involved in any clubs, cultural activities, sports, or student-led initiatives? How did those experiences help you grow?
Dhanush M: Yes, I actively participated in cultural programmes and student activities throughout my college life. One of the highlights was Samskruthi, East Point's national-level intercollegiate cultural festival. These experiences improved my communication, teamwork, leadership, and interpersonal skills while helping me build confidence, develop lasting friendships, and maintain a healthy balance between academics and extracurricular activities.
Careers360: How helpful was the institution's placement support in securing job opportunities?
Dhanush M: The placement team provided valuable career guidance through training sessions, resume-building workshops, mock interviews, and placement drives. These initiatives enhanced my communication skills, interview confidence, and industry awareness. The continuous support from the faculty and placement cell helped me understand employer expectations and prepared me to pursue professional opportunities with confidence.
Careers360: Were there any challenges you faced while transitioning from college to the professional world, and how did you overcome them?
Dhanush M: Adapting to professional expectations and workplace responsibilities was initially challenging. I overcame this by maintaining a positive attitude, continuously improving my technical knowledge, seeking guidance from mentors, and developing strong communication skills. The practical training and academic foundation I received at East Point helped me confidently transition into the professional environment.
Careers360: If you could go back to your college days, is there anything you would do differently?
Dhanush M: If given another opportunity, I would participate in more research projects, professional certifications, and industry networking events. While my academic journey was highly rewarding, gaining additional exposure through these activities would further strengthen my professional skills and broaden my career opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry.
Careers360: What advice would you give current students to make the most of their time at East Point?
Dhanush M: Make the most of every opportunity available. Focus on academics while actively participating in internships, workshops, research projects, and extracurricular activities. Learn from your faculty, build meaningful relationships with peers, and stay curious. The practical experiences and skills you develop during your time at East Point will help you build a successful and rewarding career in pharmacy.
